all i can say is that i had 2 children and got stretch marks they are fading quickly not quick enough i think but my mother had 6 children and didn't get a single one talk about good luck, so i don't know about genetics.

apparently it is genetic...I got stretchmarks as a teenager, but I used bio-oil throughout my pregnancies, as well as after, and I didn't get any. It I think it really helped...it's worth a try. It feels really nice to massage it it, if nothing else.

Yeah I'm a real believer in the fact that it's genetic. I got them like crazy! I just want something that will reduce them. I know they'll fade over time, but I wonder if there's anything I can find to speed it up! :) Thanks Rianna. I won't waste my time or money!

to Crystal Henry.. while i was pregnant i was really big on "lotioning" up so that i would not get any stretch marks! i did it morning, afternoon(if i was at home), and EVERY night before bed! NOTHING worked! my husband called me crazzy after like my 7 month and i was freaking out over a couple on my boobs and but! lol so i saw an ad in a magazine about bio oil...well the word is it DIDNT work for me! i was so furious b/c i just paid 20.00 dollars for this little bitty bottle and i seen noo evidence of it working! i went to my OB and asked them why was nothing working and her response was that some people are just "prone" to getting them, and some arent! well the ones that arent are just plain lucky!!! im sure this in not what your looking forward to, but its the truth and i wish somebody would have told me the truth when i was out there spending all that money on SEVERAL diff. products! =)

I have stretchmarks out the wazoo (two kids can do that to you) and my philosophy is that I have EARNED every one of them and they are there to stay. SO BE IT!!!! Our bodies change as we get older and as things happen to us or in our lives, embrace them early and when you are 50 the crows feet wont bother you so much. :0))

I'd be interested too! I heard Bio Oil works well...but I'd be curious to see what people here think.
