i'm a mom and i don't think men could handle one hour as a woman so i wear my stretch marks w/pride. the weight is up to you. if you're nursing, it will help w/weight loss and just eat good food and put the baby in the carriage and get out as much as you can.

I found that generally eating healthy and exercise (I went to the gym 3-4 times a week after both children when they each were around the 2mth mark) I'm sure that breastfeeding gave me a headstart though. I have only just started seeing real definition in my tummy again now though and my eldest is 2yrs 9mths. I have been doing crunches with a medicine ball at the gym around 2-3 times a week aswell as delivering newspapers. Hope this helps

HI Megan,
I know how you feel. I'm 25 years old and I just want to feel cute and sexy too. I don't think stretch marks will go away. They might fade a bit, but I'm not too sure. (The red stretch marks might turn to white ones) My daughter is 9 months old now and I still have them. I didn't get any with my first pregnancy. I gained 37 pounds with both of my pregnancies. I still have about 2-3 pounds to lose. I just recently started fitting back into my pre-pregnancy jeans!!! I don't like my tummy though. I'm going to sign up for a Core Class in January. My goal is to be a bit thinner than I was when I got pregnant by my daughter's 1st birthday in February.

Remember that you didn't gain that weight over night, so it's not going to be that easy to get it off. You're doing very well by exercising already.

Congratulations on your baby!

A friend of mine used vitamin E (after having the baby) and coco butter cream. Doctors have told me that these things don't work but when I asked them how it worked for my friend, they didn't have any answers for me.

Although they can be unsightly, I view them as a true sign of motherhood! Don't let the scars of carrying a child for all those months give you a complex!

Everyone told me I would loose the weight as a breastfeed. 6 months later, I haven't lost any weight. Once I stopped breastfeeding (not by choice, just body wasn't producing), I began shedding the inches. I have 3 friends that recommended the P90X system. It totally worked! Cardio alone will not cut it, you gotta add muscle strengthening to your workout and add increased intensity or difficulty each time. Also cut way back on the carbs. I know it's the Holidays and the worst time of year for this, but I totally understand that missing need to feel sexy. I hate looking at my stomach too, so if I want to look better, I need to give more in my workouts. Hang in there honey you can get there!

I have HORRIBLE stretch marks! lol, I had a very complicated pregnancy, due to that I had to be in bed for about 8 months, being fed italian food almost everyday, my husband is Italian Urugayan, he fed me all he knew to cook, meats and pastas, plus my baby was past due 2 weeks, so I went to 200 pounds, he is my first child, and to be honest the strech marks will never go away, but they will clear out depending on your skin, remember they are scars from all that stretching your belly had to endure, hope you feel better knowing that they are your battle scars reminding you that you have them to remind you of your little blessing that fills your days with light. Be strong and they clear out.

I got terrible stretch marks when i was pregnant and even 8 months after my son was born i still didn't feel like i had lost much weight. But funnily enough as soon as i stopped breast feeding i lost heaps of weight. I think it's because i had more of an appetite when i was feeding. And the better i started to look and feel the more i wanted to exercise and eat good. Anyway i'm now slimmer then before i had the baby (now 120 was 140lbs) and the stretch marks have faded heaps. Still there but not as noticeable. Anyway i don't think u need to try any fancy diets. Just eat healthily and move ur body.

Try vitamin E oil for the stretch marks...wont take them away completly, but will make them fade.

the redness will fade. keep putting Bio-Oil on them. it works way better than any other creams. mine turned from purple to normal skin color in about 6 months. the extra tummy can go away to a certain point. i walked everyday and got back to normal at 3 1/2 months. keep active and eat good. i kept forgetting to eat so that probably made me drop the pounds in a bad way. Hope all works out for you

I used Bio oil, and while they didn`t go away, immediatly after using it the stretch marks were less noticiable. It isn`t a cure but it helped keep them mosturized and I liked it when I wanted to feel `beautiful` again. 2 years later my marks are fading but I am pregnant again so I imagine there will be more soon ;P

Some of u moms r lucky! I gained sooo much weight with my kids and now i am not able to have anymore and i am only 25! I have 3 kids and my youngest is 2 1/2 and my belly fat is crazy and, you would think that running after 3 kids would at least work some of it off but it hasnt really helped! I have a very low metabolism and my skin has no elasticity to it at all(my doc told me that) After i had eash of my kids i could pull my skin like 6 inches from my body! After my last one was born my oldest thought it was fun to pull my skin out and jiggke it! lol! Now 2 1/2 yerars later i can still pull my skin like 2-3 inches away from my body so it is getting better but i so wish it would go faster and i have tried everything that i can! I havent found many things that i can actually do in the time that i have free in a day! Hopefully u have better luck than me!

Ladies check out 30 days shred by jillian michaels! It's great adn it's a mix of cardio and strength training. It worked great for me! Also i eat Special K in the morning and i lsot 12lbs and 7 inches in a month just with the cereal! I too am just looking to tone. As far as stretch marks go, bio oil is great! I love the stuff! To feel sexy i get my nails done and my husband buys my some sexy things once in a while and wether i feel sexy or not i know he thinks i am. Get you legs waxed, get a hari cut get out to the gym once in a while, it'll all help you feel better even if you see no results! I went to the gym for 3 months and even did a bootcamp and lost nothing! I did the 30 day shred and in the first week i lost 5lbs...i coud'tn cintune it after the first week as my son became ill and my husband went out of town for a month...military:( Anyways the shred isn't long each ngiht. I think it was 25 minutes long or so and i did it when my kids went to sleep. I did the cereal while he was gone and it worked great so now that he is back i am starting back at the gym and i hope to lose more weight:)
Good luck to all of you!!

My little man is one now and I still have my muffin top :( I have been putting bio oil on my 6 big stretch marks, they have faded a lot but I still couldn't wear a bikini. I can't seem to get rid of the belly fat. It is a very difficult area to burn fat. Breast feeding was supposed to help but I can't tell where...lol I hope to have more kids soon so I won't stress to much about it yet!!! I don't think surgery is the answer though. I guess if you put the work in it will pay off. The harder you work at it the quicker it will subside. Try a mixed routine of cardio (atleast 20min a day) and abdominal exercises.

Im not having surgery! lol Im only 22 and I plan on having more kids. But I just want the redness of the stretch marks to go away. Im working on cardio for my belly but I just feel so unattractive and fat! I absolutely would take the fat and stretch marks again for my son because I love him but damn, there are so many things women go through to have a baby! I just want to feel sexy again.

The stretch marks are scars from where your skin ripped, so the only way to truly get rid of them is by having surgery (not suggested, unless you already had the appointment made). Belly fat could take a long time to get rid of, and a lot of women don't get back to their original size, but there will always be at least a little bit of loose skin around your belly area. It may tighten up (try tightening moisturizers every night), but almost every mom has just a little bit of loose skin. Hope you reach your goals.
