Stretched out mom

I am a new mommie of a beautiful 4 month baby girl. I love being a new parent, but all the responsibilities it entitles is overwhelming. I can never live up to expectations that everyone has set forth for me. My mom thinks that I should have the apartment clean at all times with dinner always prepared for my husband, and be a working mom. I'm still going out to interview for work - which is a job itself. My daughter is first in my life right now. Just wondering, how do you balance life when you fill stretched out like a rubber band ready to break.

For starters, you don't have to live up to anyone's expectations except your own!
Forget what your Mother says, she's not living your life. Next, the best bit of advice I got was to rest when baby does, especially in the first 6 months while they are still up during the night, the housework will still be there after you have a nap when baby does.
My advice is to enjoy your baby while you can, they grow so fast and you don't want to look back and wish you spent more time with them instead of cleaning!
I work full time and have 3 children. My house isn't spotless and it drives my Mother insane but she doesn't live here so it doesn't matter. I have 2 days off a week and on Sunday we have a family day ( I have Sun & Mon off) so no housework. Monday is my shopping and running around day and a quick tidy of the house. I don't stress that it isn't spotless everyday.

Well, being a mom is definitely a full-time job in and of itself, and you need to give yourself some grace as you're new at this and still figuring everything out. So, I know it's hard to ignore everyone else's opinion, but if your husband isn't complaining and your daughter is thriving, you're already a success :). But that's not to say it's a bad idea to try and figure out a way to balance all your responsibilities. And, if it helps, there's an article at http://bit.ly/1x1Cx2w that I thought had some good tips for organizing your day as a working mom. So, just FYI. In the meantime, you'll be in my prayers!
