My husband is a yacht broker so he works weekends and boat shows. Not only is he having difficulty with management at his current place of employment, we miss out on a LOT of time together. Our son is due in October and it stresses me out knowing my husband is always working. Sometimes, to me, it doesn't seem worth it. He loves what he does but not who he does it for. We have talked about starting our own business, hoping for more flexibility down the line and at least getting some reward for his hard work. It's very stressful and the baby isn't even here yet.... suggestions? Anyone in a similar situation? How do you deal???

If you start your own business then it would probably be even more hectic to get it off the ground and making enough money to live on. His schedule would be more than what it is now so it probably isn't the solution you are looking for now.
Has he thought of finding another job in sales that doesn't include so many hours?
My husband and I both work full time. We get 1 day off a week together and that's usually when we catch up on housework etc. Sometimes it's what you have to do to get ahead, especially when you have children.

Thanks Jenta. I'm not looking to start my own business, I am employed and love it... it's just how to deal with my husband's crazy schedule and wondering if starting our own business would be beneficial or not....

Thanks!

Hi Jessica.....I understand your problem, & I solved it just by searching the internet. I live in Texas, have 3 kids & started my own business working from home over 3 years ago. Now there is a lot of companies out there, if you are looking. I would love to show you what I do if you are open to it! Everyone tries to find what works for them that is for sure. I could show you what I do and then if it's not for you...that is okay!!! :) no big deal. It should only take about 40 minutes and that's it. Would that be okay with you? Jenta
