suggestions for power outages. Please help!

We just got blasted with a huge snow storm. We ended up with about 1 1/2 feet of snow and our house got really lucky, because we only lost power for about 5-6hrs. We are expecting another storm to come tomorrow with possibly 6+in. We live way out in the country and I doubt we will have power if we get that much more, because so many trees have already fallen on lines and many about to. I just know that if we do, it will probably be days before it comes back on, because some of our neighbors still don't have power from Friday's storm. We have a generator to run the important stuff (furnace, fridge, freezer, water pump), but it won't run much else. What are some suggestions that I can do with my kids, because coloring and board games can only go so far. I doubt they will be able to go out and play in the snow much, because it has been way too cold (-9 this morning) and also, the only way I would have to dry their coats, gloves, and such would be to hang them up, because of no power to run dryer. I have three kids ages 6,4, and 2(tomorrow). Also, we wouldn't be able to go anywhere, because we only have one 4-wheel drive vehicle which my husband would need to get to work, and our roads don't get salt or anything.

Tell a chain story where you start it and then ask the kids to add to it (where the characters are going etc.) playing hide and go seek around the house. shadow puppets with a flashlight or candle. a treasure hunt could be fun too. You could build a fort with sheets and chairs. Hopefully you'll be able to make some of these ideas work for you and your family. Good luck!
