Sydney is just over 2 months old. Every since I had her, when I drink alcohol, I get throbbing headaches. This is after a single, normal sized drink. I used to be able to drink a glass or two of wine and have no headache. Obviously, if I drank a ton, I'd understand, but has anyone else developed this problem after having a baby?

I got migranes BEFORE i got pregnant, and it when i got pregnant they went away! it was nice. I have had like two-three migranes in the 14 months since I had the boys.

But i do get a headache if i drink one beer too, it depends on the brand, bud light and budweiser seem to be the worse, i used to only be able to drink Miller LIght, but now i can't drink that! I had this before i got pregnant too, and it came back bummer! Just try differnt drink and watch how much you drink, its about the only thing that can be done-unless your dr has an idea!

I had the same problem. I used to love a glass of wine with supper. Now I can't stand the feeling it gives me! My son is 17months old and I still can't drink more than a glass of something (but not wine boo) and don't get me started on beer! The only thing I find doesn't kill me is rye and coke. But just ONE. I guess it isn't so bad I don't want to get drunk anyway, gotta keep my head together for baby. :)

my son is almost 10mo old and I can barely get through a glass of wine. Like a lot of you I use to have a couple glasses a night without a problem. I drink a ton of water and eat really healthy, so I'm not sure why body is limiting me. I kinda think its subconsious and we don't want to get too tipsy incase there is an emergency and we need to take care of our babies.

I think it's common for new moms to get a bit dehydrated (fluid loss at birth, breastfeeding, etc).  When I am dehydrated, I get a headache.  If you're dehydrated, and drank alcohol, that would dehydrate you more, and maybe trigger the headache.  So, maybe try drinking more water, and then see if you can drink alcohol without the headache.

My kids are 5 and 3.  I used to enjoy a few glasses of wine a week (and on occasion a night, lol).  I cannot even finish one glass of wine, or any other alcohol for that matter.  I actually feel almost like I am having an allergic reaction if I try to finish it anyway after the headache starts.  My best guess is that my body chemistry has changed and also sleep deprivation.  No matter what I do I cannot get a CONSISTANT good night's sleep (I'm lucky to get one a week).  I think that has a lot to do with it.  All you can do is give it time and gradually try having a drink, but it's been over 3 years since my last one was born and I don't think my headaches are going anywhere anytime soon.  :(

I also suffered with headaches after my daughter was born which really sucked because I had waited so long to have a glass of wine! I am happy to report that it didn't last long. For a few months I had to drink very little at a time. I don't know if it has to do with our body systems trying to get back to order or what but hopefully for you it won't last long either.

My friend use to get wicked headaahes too after her daughter was born. She had to switch to drinking coolers and can't drink anything else even now 4 years later.Otherwise she still gets headaches.Maybe you should try something else or try light brands. She never did find out what caused them.
