Teaching a 3 year old

My son is nearly 3. What should he know before he turns 4 (or starts preschool). And could you give me ideas of what you do with your 3 year old to help them prepare for preschool? Thank you!

At the end of preschool they have to be able to write their name, colors, shapes, letters and if he's advanced on that you can start with the sounds.. also the numbers up to at least 30, be able to count and write those numbers. Teaching kids life skills is important, such as respect for others, manners, sharing and being aware of their world. Every moment can be teachable as you point out things in creation. Reading to him is one of the best things you can do to expand his worldview. Have fun as you see the world through his eyes and rediscover the wonder in simple things.
