I've been a SAHM since 93' and I can tell you from experience that you must have a plan, as a guide, but be flexible at all times. Sometimes like when one of my kids didn't feel well, I had to alter my plans.

Also, one thing I learned that's paramount- my kids will be young only once, and I didn't want to turn into this supermom and forget to spend quality time with them and teach life lessons along the way. We had a weekly outting at the park, mall etc...and esp the library- to keep them in a learning and growing mode, kids really need that & happy memories they accumulate will be more remembered than a super clean house.

I know people who have immaculate homes, but lack the relationship I am thankful to have with my kids. Suggestion: Write down every room in the house and create a checklist ie: Bathroom-1.Clean toilet 2.Tub 3.Wash curtains, rug sets etc..4.Mirrors and have a Calendar that you decide what day you will do certain chores and maybe rotate them. Maybe Monday you can do the Bathroom & vacuum rugs etc...don't wear yourself out, if you do at least 1-2 rooms a day, you have accomplished alot, along with all the endless tasks of raising 2 kids.

My kids were 3mos. & 31/2 when I started, now they are 18 & how time flies! Wouldn't trade the experience for anything and no one but GOD alone could pay me for the sacrifices and responsibility I assumed. I knew it wasn't gonna be easy, but its worth it. Most importantly do at least one thing for yourself daily, you can let that be a bubble bath, making a phone call to a friend, a ice cream cone, alot of little experiences add up and at least make you feel like you are making progress.

Many Blessings to you and can do it.

get up with kid make him his oatmeal or cereal with his cup of milk.let him eat and then I take him to the bathroom and as he is watching his Mickey Mouse I load the dishes and get them started. When he is finished with the t.v I have him clean up his play room and I get the laundry started.about that time I start lunch and he helps me make my bed and we do his after. We eat lunch and finish the dishes and clothes and he can lie down for his nap if he wants to.he likes to play by himself also so that helps.around 3 pm I start getting the ingredients together for dinner and when daddy gets home at 4:30 he gets to give the bath and then we eat ,watch a little t.v and then son gets ready for bed.Brush teeth and wash face and hands.Bed at 8 or 9 pm.Hope that helps =)

everyday i am washing dishes as they appear i do NOT like dishes sitting in my sink, if i have a full basket of washing that will be done, i sweep every second day and vacum once a week as well as mop. i dont have a routine for the house work i just fit it in with my day while my son keeps his routine and i definetly make lots of time to play with him :) i cook tea around 530pm everynight and clean up straight after we've eaten. i also do a quick clean of the house before i hop into bed. and i dont start my cleaning of the house until ive been up for atleast an hour, so around 9am.

I do washing in the morning and get it hung out, get it off in the afternoon, and everything else is open slather except my oldest's naptime, which is 12pm.

Washing one load of clothes, doing dishes every day, ironing, vacuuming and mopping two or 3 days a week, cleaning up kids rooms twice a week, one day a week to do absolutely nothing.

Check out this website - lots of great ideas! As a homeschooling mom of 5 I HAVE to have a routine or else nothing gets done! You'll have to make your own list depending on what needs to get done when. The kids have to have their toys picked up before meals and bedtime, bedrooms are tidied before 9am (our "school" time). I break up my day into blocks (7-9am, 9-1, 1-3, 3-5:30, and5:30-8:00) This gives me structure without being so rigid.
