So I had my baby a week ago wonderful healthy baby boy and the labor and everything went so smoothly...but after words I was excited that I wasn't pregnant anymore and everything was smooth...when i got home from the hospital i felt happy and so over joyed....but for the past week yeah ive cried 4 times and blamed myself alot for doing the littlest mistakes...and I was in so much pain from breast feeding i was crying and told myself i want to give up on breast feeding forever...but i didn't know I had the baby blues for a week and my husband told me everything i went through....he said not to worry about it every new mom goes through it...but how can i not be worried about it......But tonight I feel soooo great so much better than i did for the past week i want to go for walks and spend time with my son and just enjoy life forever with my family....but how could ive not known i had the baby blues and didnt even know it until my husband spoke up

I was all over the place for the first 2 or 3 weeks. For me it just went away and my emotions settled down. Do you have a local child health nurse or public/community nurse who will be coming to see you? I think you should chat to her, she can tell you if this is just normal hormonal new-mom stuff that will pass or if it is the baby blues.

You ask how you could have not known.... I barely knew what day it was! I couldn't think straight or remember anything. Lean on your supportive husband and I'm sure you will return to normal soon.

I had them undiagnosed for 6 months. You may feel good tonight, but tomorrow you may go right down again. Its a really bad roller coaster of emotions. The best thing to do is get help asap. See you maternal health nurse, or dr and see if they can recommend someone for you to see. As soon as i saw a counsellor about it i felt so much better. i still have my down days, and my daughter is 9 months old, but in general now everything is great. Hope it all works out for you :)
