if someone can sit in the back with him while he is awake it will make things easier. I have a 21 month old and 11 week old. You just have to take the time to make stops if needed and remember to bring some of his comforts from home (i.e.- blankie, stuffed toy, whatever is familuar for bed time)

AND from experience dont expect him to stay asleep when you get there. My 21 month old is great at being sound asleep but as soon as the car stops he is wide awake. So if you are staying at someones house you may want to warn them. I always try and leave just before nap time so I get some peace and a rested child.

Make sure you bring extra bottles diapers and wipes, bring a few toys and a few jars of food. You never know when wake up will be.It sucks that you have to do the drive at means a really long next day for you or daddy. We also do our 9hours drives during the day and have yet to have a problem. We have done the drive about a dozen times since our son was 3 months old and he's now 2.5yrs old and we also have a 10month old little girl. Don't stress is my biggest piece of advice to you. I have high anxiety while driving and since kids it's much worse so i try not to freak out too much and i try to sleep as well.

Good luck and have a fun trip:)
