trouble losing the baby fat!

So, my baby is 9 months old, and I'm still struggling with losing the pregnancy weight. Its hard to exercise because of health problems, and its pretty cold out which discourages me from wanting to go on walks. I'm really frustrated because I've tried changing my eating habits and doing stuff in our home, but nothing is working.

This is like my biggest self-esteem issue right now. I try not to compare myself to other moms, especially my relatives, but its hard. I think it would just help knowing that I'm not the only one who has had this problem!

I've been a calorie counter which has helped me. For my height and build which is small frame I need to stick to 5000kj = 1200 calories a day to shed those dredded kilos, if you were a larger size person try 6300kj, in calories that equates to 1500calories a day. Buy yourself Allan Borushek's 'Calorie, Fat & Carbohydrate counter' to keep track and try to stick to low fat which really helps ie: that is foods that are 3grams of fat or less per serve. I know it might seem tiring at first, cos having a young bub is all that on its own, but just give it a go for 1 week and see how it works for ya. ps drink at least 2 litres of water a day and try not to eat too many starchy carbs!! Goodluck and I hope it helps

I was struggling with my post-pregnancy weight that wasn't coming off even after doing lots of remedies and workouts. I gained 35 lbs and while breastfeeding I lost just 5 lbs after 6 months post partum. One day, a friend told me about a natural weight loss tea supplement called mummy magic weight loss tea. I started drinking this tea 3 times daily half an hour before my meal times and within 2 months I lost all those freaky pounds without losing my breast milk production.

Hi I am having the same trouble. I have joined fitness pal which I like cause I can at least track my weight. I should log but I don't because I just cheat anyway it's hard for me to diet I need to exercise more but it's so cold and I'm not motivated! I say once my 3 year old goes to school It will be so much easier but that is years away

While you're pregnant, your body automatically layers on extra fatty tissue so you'll have enough fat stores to begin and support breastfeeding. After you have your baby, however, if what you eat is varied and well balanced, breastfeeding can help you lose your pregnancy weight without compromising either your health or your baby's by dieting. And you naturally burn calories to make breast milk every time you nurse.

I followed this along with 30 min morning walk and 20 min pilates and come me down to 54 kg from 70 kgs. Trust me breast feeding works....

Hi Becky,

There are simple excercises you can do using your own body weight that can help tone things up. Yoga is a great way too..pick a few poses and do them throughout the day whenever you think of it. Do not cleanse if you are breastfeeding, but if you are not or when you finish, its a great option.

You can supplement with evening primrose, Omega 3's, and use coconut oil to help boost your metabolism and do core body excercises to boost your resting metabolic rate (easy to find examples on google). Just dont be too hard on yourself (stress only adds to cortisol which will keep weight on) and make it fun for yourself. Try to bundle and get some walking in or go up and down the stairs. Carrying you little guy will help strengthen your core too.

Also drink tons of water and lemon juice and cut out salt...goes a long way. You'll get there :)

I am not sure where you live, but I take a Zumba fitness class and Turbokick class , they are 45 min. classes, and only 5dollars each. I enjoy it and it is a fun way to get back in shape

Hi Becky, I am with ya girl. No matter how much you have to lose, its hard. I have struggle over the last couple of years with some body image issues. Your body just isn't the same after you have kids (I have 2 boys 3.5 and 22 months). I am still trying to get off the last little bit of weight.

I have vowed to have a healthier 2012. So I have started back to the gym. I am only making it 2 times a week right now, but its a start. You have to find something that works for you and that you are motivated to do. What about dancing with your baby. Its doesn't seem like much, but you are at least moving.

I have also started a cleanse (Isagenix) in the last couple of weeks. It has been the kick start I have needed. I have lost 4 lbs in 6 days and still losing. I feel awesome and very energetic, I have always had acne and this has helped clear it up.

I have started a facebook page to post my journey and it also has the results of other who have done it. If you would like to follow along it might give you a the push you need and the support to get going.

Hope this helps a bit. Hang in there, you can do it.!/groups/186707891426406/
