Trying to make friends in Chicago(Lincoln Park) is too hard any pointers?

I am a first time mom who is also a stay at home mom. My daughter, Eleanor is 9months and very active. We mostly play in the house this summer but I am going crazy and need mom friends. My husband is also at home all day, working. So I really need to meet other women and make friends. Thing is, I live in the city and everyone just seems already so consumed with themselves and their families that making new friends seems to NOT be a big deal. But It is for me. Question is, how do I make friends with people in the BIG CITY? I'm not new here, I was just a different person previously and none of my friends have kids, they are all still partying ! I'm 33 just trying to settle down.

I recommend looking into support groups on Facebook for women near or around your area. Try taking your baby to the library for children's book readings. Also try looking into churches (not sure if that's your thing) but I know that there are plenty of stay at home great example and fun mom's in churches. There's also the the mall if you have a mall near you take her on a play date there and introduce yourself to some of the women. I would go early in the morning because that's usually when you can catch the stay at home mama crowd. Hope this helps.
