Unhappy 4 year old

My 4 year old son has recently taken to crying histerically at the drop of a hat. If he asks for a glass of milk and I don't get it IMMEDIATELY, he will burst int to tears, saying, "Now I'll NEVER get my milk!" I'm at my whit's end. I've tried talking to him, hugs and kisses, sending him tohis room until he calms down, even yelling, which I HATE doing! There have been no recent life changes to account for this behavior, and I can't figure out why he's doing it. PLEASE HELP - every time he starts to cry, I want to, too!!!

I also did the mimmick thing, I started pretending to cry and shake like my daughter, and it helped. I also did it when she wasn't doing it, to make her think about it when she was calm. We also told her she was a big girl now and would get a time out if she cried instead of learning to wait. It took about three months to work completely. Good luck.
