Was your mom a SAHM, too?

My mom was a stay at home mom for 22 years, and 5 kids! My mom in law was a SAHM for her 4 kids, too.
Now I am, too.

Was YOUR mom a SAHM? If you have a mom in law, was she a SAHM?

My mum had 3 of us under 5 so she stayed home until my youngest sister was 7 and then started doing some part time work. A month later she was pregnant with my brother and stayed home another 8 years. She now works full time and loves it. I'm a stay at home mum for now but I plan to go back to my studies when the kids hit school age.

My mom was a SAHM, she even kept us home from pre-school, but she did send us to kindergarten and what not. Having had a SAHM growing up definately influenced my decision to be a SAHM, I have such wonderful memories with my mom!

My MIL was not a SAHM, in fact, when my husband was just 2 weeks old she went back to work! But my husband thought it was a great idea that I be a SAHM anyways! LOVE IT!!!

My mom had me when she was 15, my brother at 17, my sister at 18, and my other sister at 21. That's quite a handful. She was a stay at home mom all along and still is even though we are 20, 19, 18, and 15. I am a stay at home mom, but I plan to go to work part time when my son starts school. I want to still be there for him, but also what work so I don't have to spend all day at home alone.

My mom stayed home on and off with us. She went back to work when I was 2. Then after my sister was born, she was very sick so she had to quit work again to take care of her. Then when we were in elementary school she went back to work. She's a teacher so she had the same hours we did which was nice.

My MIL was a SAHM always.

I plan to stay home until all my kids go to school. Or I might just remain at home, who knows. :)

We're a SAHM family! My Mom was a SAHM until we were 11, 9, & 7. Even when she went to work it was only part time. My MIL was a SAHM also. She had an occasional part time job as needed. So my hubby and I were very blessed and have a great idea of how we want to raise our girls. As for my family, my sister and I are both SAHM's and my SIL will likely be as well. My husband is an only. Many of my aunts were SAHMs until their kids were teens or older, or they were forced to work, and their daughters are following in their footsteps. And we love it! And are so very thankful to be blessed enough to be able to do it!

My Mum was a sahm - when she got married (1948) it was much more normal for women to leave work when they married, as she did. She raised both my brothers, then me, and was always at home for us, which I loved. I think my MIL did a bit of cleaning work, but didn't work full-time. My husband's still not entirely sure that we'll be able to afford for me to stay at home, especially as he's still out of work, but I'm loving every minute of it, and I want to home educate our daughter as well.

Mom was a SAHM for 17 years. She went back to work then. I was 17 at the time and my youngest sibling was 7. There were five of us. But my dad was a SAHD too, they have a ranch so there has always been a parent home regardless of my mom working :)

My MIL was not a SAHM ever. I was worried that my husband would want me to eventually get a job, since his mom always worked, once our kids were in school (my youngest will start pre school this fall). But we have no plans for me going back to work anywhere in the near future. I have been at home for 8 years and love every minute of it!

My mom was a sahm until me and my younger sister were in school. She had a few misc. jobs when we were little. My MIL was a sahm until my husband (her youngest) went into school and then she took a job. I am a sahm now but plan to finish my degree and have a job once my child(ren) are in school.
