Weird tongue playing

My four month old plays with her tongue. Like all the time. She is not chewing her tongue she is making a sucking, nursing motion. But it's not because she hungry it's just like she is using it as a soother or to comfort her self. She is a breast fed baby. She won't take a soother or bottle. Should I be worried about this? Or is it just something she finds to do to comfort and amuse her self. I have her next doc appt next week. I'm just wondering what other moms think? Thanks for your input

I wouldn't be to worried about it Brittany, she probably just discovered her tongue and is figuring it out. You can always mention it to the pediatrician but I'm sure she's fine. My first guess would have been that she's hungry but if your offering to feed her and she's not wanting it then she really is just exploring.

Hang in there,
