My four month old plays with her tongue. Like all the time. She is not chewing her tongue she is making a sucking, nursing motion. But it's not because she hungry it's just like she is using it as a soother or to comfort her self. She is a breast fed baby. She won't take a soother or bottle. Should I be worried about this? Or is it just something she finds to do to comfort and amuse her self. I have her next doc appt next week. I'm just wondering what other moms think? Thanks for your input

Mine does the same thing. She's just discovering her tounge and playing with it. No biggie. My daughter does it when she's playing or sleepy. Playing is going every direction and around like she's trying to figure it out and when she's sleepy she's just soothing herself. Or not awake enough to realize I took my breast away.
Also she's been less and less intrested in get soothie lately and before it was always in her mouth or near by.
