Unless you notice any problems or concerns about your childs teeth most ped. dentists will recommend around their 3rd bday! I was gonna make an appointment for my daughter just after her first bday b/c I heard somewhere you need to have them checked out by a year of age and the dentist told me it wasn't necessary unless I had concerns.......that was reiterated by a second dentist who is also a friend of the family!

My dentist told me when the child is around 3... but if there are any problems (broken teeth, bleeding, pain, etc) to come in when needed

i'm a mother of 1, registered nurse here in the philippines specializing in pediatrics and the best time to bring your kid to the dentist is when his teeth is already complete which is around 30 months or 2 1/2 years old. usually his pediatrician will just check how his teeth is growing during his monthly visits and would probably recommend you to use a toothgel cleanser for his gums and his erupting teeth =) i hope this helped

HI,

MY DAUGHTER HAS HER 1ST APPT. IN MARCH, SHE IS 16 MNTHS.. SHE WILL HAVE 6 TEETH THEN AND WE THOUGHT THAT IT WOULD BE A GREAT TIME TO GET HER STARTED. WE CHOSE A PED. DENTIST, MAKES IT VERY COMFORTABLE FOR THE CHILDREN.

BEST OF LUCK:)
