I'm a FT SAHM. We started preschool at 3. Instead of daycare, I joined a MOMS Club for activities and playgroups with my kids. I also did MOPS for several years. I you need to go the daycare route, I would start when you are ready.

Is there a reason you're thinking you should start daycare? I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with daycare, I'm just curious why you think you should.

i wish i could answer this for you, but my only suggestion is, if your child has a healthy immune system and is able to sit on her own and play a bit by herself, i say go for it. i am partial to keeping my kids at home just because of all the illness that comes with daycare. so for you it's really up to the parent and how much time you can take off work for her, in case she gets sick./ and of course if it's contagious and you get it...
hope i helped atleast a little

Hello Ashley,

Personally, I waited for my son to turn 2 yrs old before i enrolled him in a preschool. Waiting has its negative and positive sides actually. It is good to wait, coz then once in preschool he will actually be able to interact with his teacher and friends and express himself whether to his teacher or to his mom once back home, which helps you evaluate if he is happy at preschool or something/someone is bothering him.

The negative side is that my son became tooo attached to me coz he is used to being with me all day till he turned 2yrs. my advice is try to leave ur daughter with other family members or maybe a friend whom u trust very very much and who has kids her age. this way she might get used to being around other people but u will also be assured that she is completely safe.

Hope I helped :)

Take care and good luck

dear ashley im a mum of 6 children and all of my children have attended day care as soon as they could walk , i feel they can gain more experience this way and most things are at eye level then.i also think by then there imune system to colds etc is much stronger as you know kids who do go to creche daycare are more prown to get sick more often. hope this has helped.
