I used to swear by Pampers, but after the whole thing about the new Cruisers giving kiddos chemical burns, I have switched to Huggies. I'd recommend Pampers Swaddlers at first because they're soft and work well on baby's sensitive skin. When baby gets older, move on to Huggies Little Movers. Good luck and Congrats, Momma-to-be! :)

i used to buy huggies because we found them to be the best but then switched to snugglers and they are just as good and alot cheaper!! we buy a box of about 92 at Big w for 33 dollars or a pack of about 64 for 20 dollars at terry white chemist.

i also have a little girl, but shes getting big now. all 9 months of her. haha. when she was born i used pampers swaddlers newborn, those are amazing theyre soft never leak and have a yellow line on the front of the diaper that turns blue when its wet. then i used huggies because my mom suggested them and i HATE them with a passion. theyre rough and leak and actually caused more diaper rashes. i then found the swaddlers in size 2 and used those until she started crawling and moving, and now were using the pampers cruisers and havent had a single problem. i love them!! i heard huggies are better for boys, pampers better for girls. good luck!!

If you're going for cloth - I love Happy Heineys. For disposable - if you are near a Costco, I love their Kirkland brand diapers. Luvs has a horribly strong smell, Wal-Mart brand is HORRIBLE, Target's brand is so-so. Huggies - I don't care for because the ink was coming off the diaper onto my daughter's skin and it wouldn't wash off. It had to wear off. Pampers are good if the price works for you. I've never used Sams Club's diapers.

Hi (:
If you're not picky about store brands Cosco has the best price for the ammount of diapers you get. The boxes usually have around 200 diapers (there's more diapers the smaller the size) for around 45 bucks. All the name brands like Huggies, Swaddlers etc, all do the same thing but cost more. My son has never had leaks with these diapers and when I used the name brands I recieved from my shower I felt the Cosco brand held more. If your baby isn't sensitive to diaper brands I think Cosco is the way to go. Hope this helps (:

Huggies is the best for my daughter.. Unless she pooped, i don't really change her diaper.. It's really absorbent and doesnt leak even if she moves around. She has tried pampers but had a rash all over her butt,...you may try using it alternately so you can see what works well for your baby...

I I forgot to say, I actually prefer the opposite from most moms here. I got tons of different free sample when my son was born and tried them all. Huggies diapers were by far the best, best fit, most absorbent, so as a result the best value. Pampers wipes were by far the best wipes in my opinion because they were the softest but also were stretchy and flexible. I found the Huggies so thick that they were not stretchy at all and more expensive.

The hospital usaully gives you pamper swaddlers the first couple days when your lil newborn arrives.I always liked Huggies. But as my son got into size 2-3 I bought Luvs.Just bc you get less diapers.Luvs worked great for my lil man the quality seemed right for the money.I recommend pampers or huggies til your lil one gets into bigger sizes bc even with those brands you get at least 50 diapers for $9 bucks @walmart.Which is pritty good! Good luck hope this helps or gives you an idea:)

Honestly, I use the Target brand diapers. They are half the cost and work just as well if not better than any name brand diaper I've ever used. Stay away from the babies r us brand (especially for baby) because those blow out all the time!! The target brand wipes that are specially for breast fed babies (if you end up nursing) are also just as good as the Lansinoh brand and cost more than a dollar less!

Don't waste your money on any high brand name diapers cause you r just paying for the logo on them, you should try out parents choice cause I tryed all of those name brands like huggies and luvs and pampers ect and my kids would leak and I would end up changeing not only a diaper but their outfits and bed sheets and blankets. Hope it helps and congrats on your little girl comming into the world soon. 8-D

The best diapers I have found are Luvs b/c they work great and are less expensive than Pampers and Huggies. I also love Target brand diapers, they are the only store brand that I've found that doesn't leak everytime. I did use Walmart diapers with my daughter who is 6 now and they worked great on her but my 18 month old son pees right through them. Pampers and Huggies are good too but I think they are way too expensive for something your kid is going to pee and poop in and then you are throwing away.

I did use pampers when my son still few weeks old but developed some rashes. So I tried Huggies and it worked great! My daughter used it too and now using Huggies pull-ups. :)

Hello Lorraine
I use huggies on my daughter and haven't had any problems. I do love pampers too, I just always thought they cost more, guess I will have to look into them again, Alicia makes them sound pretty amazing!

I think it is different for each child what works the best. We hd great success with the Huggies Supreme (not regular huggies) and also the swaddlers when the boys were very little. We also found that as they got older and I got over my namebrand for my brand new baby phase (lol) the costco brand diapers and Target brand diapers worked great as well. With my second sone we had issues with him getting rashes and had to switch to the 7th Generation all natural diaper, which are also a great choice. Hope this helps :)

I also loved Huggies! My son is 3 now, but we used huggies from the day he was born! I also used the night ones to prevent leaks! I tried the target brand ones when I friend recommended them, but they leaked like crazy for him! I think you just have to buy some and try them...I think it often depends on the babys build too. Myson had really chubby legs, but a friend that had a baby with skinny legs said huggies leaked for her!

I used Pampers when my daughter was newborn because that's what they gave me in the hospital but when she was about 2 1/2 months I discovered the we BOTH loved Costco's brand, Kirkland Signature.....NO MORE POOPY BACKS! They're cute, don't have a funny smell, durable with a wide waistband, and they're cheaper then any other good brand name company.

I like, no I love Huggies diapers. They are the best but you have to know which huggies to buy. I use to hate huggies but that because i was buying the the ones in the white package and they leak and don't soak anything up they just let it out.But I buy the Huggies in the all red package the soak and keep evrything in the diaper. So i would go with Huggies I raise two children on them with a third also a girl the way in August.

Go for the cloth! We have saved so much money! I bought brand new ones on ebay. Great deals! I like the all in ones with extra pad inserts. We do a dry diaper pail with baking soda. It's really not as hard as I thought it would be. We wash diapers about every other day. So much laundry anyway, what's one more load?!

there is no best diaper. when my little girl was in diapers, I constantly had to change diapers as she grew and her body changed shape from stout to skinny and back again.

Go with Huggies. My first kid used to break out in a rash with every brand except huggies and i have heard pampers just changed their diapers and the new product is horrible. My dr recommended huggies to me and i have no trouble at all with them, im due the 26th and already got huggies stocked up

for newborn I used pampers swaddlers. They were the best ever! once they were up to like a size 2 I put them in luvs. They are way cheaper and personally I think they work better than like huggies or pampers.

I started out using pampers and huggies with my son, and then pampers with my daughter..but then I discovered Luvs. I love them, and my daughter prefers them over huggies..huggies bunches too much and she just freaks out. Luvs (as well as pampers) are thinner and hold just as much, or even better...and Luvs are cheaper! :) I was just at Target the other day and noticed that Huggies went up by $10! Ridiculous. It's so not worth it. I would suggest Pampers swaddlers for when he/she is little, then switch to Luvs when you get into the larger sizes. :)

I use Pampers or Huggies. Hate to be a brand buyer. I tried the Target diaper, but they leaked all the time. Just buy small amounts until you find the ones you like.

both of my girls were pampers babies. My sister has 3 boys and always used huggies. If i ran out while away from the house I really liked the Dollar General store brand diapers.
all kids are just trial and error though. what works for us might not be what works for yours. But in any brand that you try, start baby out with unscented everything, don't want the added iols and perfumes on a brand new butt.

I think it depends on what you want out of a diaper - i didn't notice a huge difference in leaking ( I have a boy) but he did get bad diaper rashes and we could only use generic brands. something to do with the preservatives they put in brand name diapers & the generic brands actually use fewer ingredients. now they're coming out with more hypoallergenic diapers than were available when my son was in diapers but something to consider...

Ever since my son was born....the only diapers i liked where: Huggies and Luvs. I also buy the overnight diapers because they absorb better at night and not much leaking during the night.

Huggies are the best. pampers leaks bad. and definitely when the baby starts moving, use Huggies lil movers, the Pampers Cruisers leaks so bad. and stay away from Luvs. theyre good for daytime, but not when the baby starts sleeping overnight. the regular Huggies and lil movers works great when the baby starts sleeping all night, they dont leak at all (my son sleeps 12 hours straight and no leaks, and he tosses and turns)

Everyone's baby is different. We had the exact opposite problem as Alicia. Pampers leaked, Huggies were the best for our daughter. Also if you shop at a place like Sam's Club, the price difference is not as bad between brands (they buy in bulk, then you buy in bulk= waaaay cheaper with great quality). Also, if you buy in bulk, one box will last you a month.

It really depends on YOUR child. My son couldn't use Huggies, broke out in a rash like no tomorrow. He was fine in Pampers(the old pampers that is, and has been using the training pants by pampers for a while now) My daughter couldn't use Pampers. So she is in Huggies. That being said, Huggies AND Pampers has recently changed their diapers either by design or materials used and people are having a hard time with BOTH brands. My daughter started to get a rash on her leg where the elastic now sits with the Huggies. My son hasn't had any problems with the training pants because they haven't changed anything in those, but some babies are getting bad rashes. I personally think the child is just allergic to the brand of diapers and it's kind of hit and miss but the parents of these children believe it is chemical burn. Buy one brand if you want so you have some stock but if you notice a rash from either one you can always bring the unopened packages back to the store for an exchange. Remember Huggies girls, Pampers boys, they are cut different for the different sexes and the absorbent material is in the proper place for the sex.

Good luck and congrats!!

Oh and i forgot, because my daughter's rash is getting worse, i have changed her to Huggies Pure and Natural and after a day(today is the first day using them) she is starting to clear already. She has had NO diaper rash on her bum or vagina, just around the leg where the elastic rubs and my Dr said it was eczema. But either way it's clearing now:)

My little girl is already 2 years plus.when she was newborn i used "shee shee" as it was cheap n quality is not bad, coz newborn babies poops very often so it is a waste to use expensive diapers. After that pooping period cloth diapers is the best preventing rashes n allergic for some babies. p/s: if ur baby`s skin is allergic do prefer cloth diaper though its more troublesome. =)

I tend to use cloth diapers most of the time. We do use disposables (whatever is on sale or have a coupon for) for outings. We usually use the huggies nighttime for overnight. Unless there is poop, they don't get changed.

As for what's best, you want your child in the size that they are closer to the middle of the weight range when wearing. Also, the brand you choose will be whatever doesn't bother your child's skin. No matter the flavor, stock up on diaper cream.
