Today I am feeling pretty unmotivated, it's been a crazy last few weeks. We have all been sick, just now getting over it. Yesterday we had a big day, indoor play place, pumpkin patch rides, trick or treating and then a carnival. We got home late, went to be even later, my son got up early like always. My husband has been a rare thing in our home as he has two classes which take all his after work time and weekends and has been studying for a board at work, he is a Marine so he has long hours anyway. I have no family within 10 hours of me and the friends I have are not ones I would call up to come save me, they have there own life challenges, I am pooped! My visions of getting up early and turning on the coffee and the music, cleaning with a smile on my face while entertaining and educating my children are very far from my abilities right now. I love them so much and wouldn't ever give up being home with them, but sometimes, okay very often I am so tired and warn out even before the day starts. What do you do when you want so badly to call in sick.... but can't?

Emma I know how you feel, mine are early risers by 8am I've had enough too, so I pack them up and go to the gym for an 8.15am class.
There's only so much ABC4kids that I can watch though

Try a early morning workout, or get a coffee maker that has an auto setting, if you don't already. Start your day by cleaning and making your children their morning meal. Stay on your feet.

I'm all for just letting the kids know hey mom needs a moment. We live in a circle that includes 6 houses so I send them out my neighbors and I take turns watching each others kids out to play. I'll sit and read, watch a movie or call a friend or family member. ( my family are all far away from me) then I feel a lot better after that!

At least when the bird bath boogie comes on I know I'm nearly done for the day.
I love my gym, the childcare is open from 8am 5 days a week and the girls that run it are fantastic

Get help. We have never lived near family and had triplets. We had to learn to ask for help. Get a 2 hour break and use it to do something that restores you: walk, lunch with a friend. Plan something to get you back so you can give!

COFFEE!!!!!!! it works for me! lol (maybe i had a little too much today) :)

[deleted account]

breakfast & COFFEE & a piece of black chocolate + don;t try to get all your chores done and go to bed as soon as your kids are in bed. I don;t try to get everything done any more, only whatever needs to be done today or can't wait any longer. My house is not nearly as clean as it used to be before kids, it took me some time to get used to this. Some day soon I;ll go back to being a clean freak again :)

I always feel tired when I wake up but I find that if I have a large glass of water and a pear for breakfast I start feeling more energetic :-)

Sherri, 5am is dark... very dark. lol My KIDS aren't the ones awake at that time, but I haven't been able to sleep til 6 (the earliest I HAVE to be up) in a month. :(

I also suffer w/ constant fatigue. I do have the most energy in the mornings, but by lunchtime.... I'm ready to be done for the day. :(

It's ok to take for everyone to take a break (even the kids). Don't clean or plan any big projects for a few days. Re-juvinate. You deserve it!! If your kids are still napping, instead of doing a bunch of chores while they sleep- you rest/take a nap too. If napping's not your thing, just relax-- read a book, watch a movie, whatever calms you down. You will feel much better. If that's not an option then do it when the go to bed (instead of rushing around to get everything done-- just GO TO BED) The sleep will do wonders :)

And find some me-time when you can. Your husband is busy but SO ARE YOU. I find my biggest problem is not asking for help when I need it. If you ask people are usually more than willing to help :) I am sure if you look at your schedule you can find one hour or even 30 minutes that you can have alone each week (go for a walk, exercise, cofee shop with a book, shopping WITHOUT kids, etc). Good luck! And know that you are in good company.

I know how you feel, and I have a bit of help too. Sometimes I wonder if I just excercised more I'd feel better. Do you feel like that too? Just know your not alone. I just want to enjoy my kids as well, but it's hard when there's so much to do. Maybe you could find a sitter so you can have alone time and regroup. I feel better when my spouse gets home and let's me have a break. He's gone two weeks, home two weeks etc. Maybe your man can find the time to help get his exhausted wife a casual sitter?

Thank you all :) Today is a much better day, we are back on track today :) My son went to preschool, meanwhile my daughter and I went the gym. I was just thrown off since we had all been sick. My son was home sick from school which was throwing him off and I hadn't been to the gym in a week. I am still feeling it a bit but I couldn't stay away from the gym anymore I was starting to feel really out of sorts... lol. The kids are down for their naps I am about to get my shopping list together and when they wake up we are off to do some shopping :) Today is a much better day... I even think the sun is shinning just a bit brighter... lol ;)

Take a nice hot shower and put on a pair of clean pyjamas and stay in them all day. :)

Order a pizza or some other food delivery.

Take a nap if/when your kids have one.

Sometimes a bit of fresh air helps, but if I don't feel like going out because I'm absolutely wiped out, I don't put pressure on myself to do it.

I get up put the kettle on have a cuppa and breakfast stick the kids in front of the tv for 10 mins while I have a shower.
I normally feel much better after that.

I also go to the gym, and we get out for a walk or to the park.
If I'm feeling really lazy I will sit in the garden and play with the kids
