I might need to elaborate: "How do you keep the kitchen SPONGE/CLOTH (used to wipe down bench & sink ect) from smelling (not the kitchen bench itself)?

I don't use sponges/clothes. I use the Lysol Wipes. The scented ones. There is no way to keep a sponge from smelling. You just have to change it out once a week, or use something else.

I keep a stack of clean wash cloths. I wet one with warm water and use it only once. I put them all in the wash at the end of the week with bleach

Yes, a reusable cloth. I've got a bunch of them, and I use them as necessary, then wash them at the end of the week.

I use dish soap and a cloth. The cloth I change every day or else it does start to smell.

I wash dishes in two sinks. The first has detergent and a splash of bleach the second is my rinse sink with a splash of white vinegar. I usually wipe down the counters stove refrigerator handles and toaster front and micrwave interior and front with my bleach rag from the wash sink. I have recently learned that vinegar is just as good as a cleaner and sterilizer for counters microwaves etc as bleach. It is recommended by the pro's. Put in a spray bottle and wipe down the counters. I also let my dishes air dry whenever possible they say it is more sanitary than drying with a towel. Hope this helps, Pat

Elfrieda, is it a disposable cloth or a re-usable one, in which case i'd guess you put it in the laundry everyday and use a new one?

I use my Melaleuca tough and tender spray. My husband thinks I'm addicted to it. It smells so good. It is a multi-purpose cleaner like formula 409, but is plant based and eco friendly. I never have an issue with smell.

Magic Erasers all the way!! The generic ones won't even do, it has to be the real thing! They are my main tool for cleaning. Lysol wipes are good for removing odor causing funk from counters.

I used to spray a mix of chlorine bleach and water and then wipe it down with a clean sponge. Now I have a container of chlorox anti-bacterial wipes and I use them several times a day.

I haven't had an issue with the counter top smelling, but I can and do have odors coming from the drain, the trash, or sometimes the sink.
