what fun activities to teach a year old baby?

Bubbles. Playing in a pan of rice or beans. Finger painting. Baking. "Helping" with household chores - our toddlers liked to take stuff out of the washer and put it in the dryer one item at a time or help to match socks. When they were really little I would hold up two and ask if they were a pair or not and I would pull stuff out of the washer and pass to them to put it in the dryer. Going for walks - slow toddler walks where you stop to look at every rock and stick. Kids that age also love to stick things in holes - like putting coins in a bank one at a time, Easy puzzles. Look for a toy lending library.
