I think it's pretty common around 4 years old to start testing boundaries and wanting to assert himself and choose things for himself - and eating is pretty much the only thing he has control over so he may just be doing it to feel empowered - which sounds silly but makes sense - maybe if you started asking him to make some minor decisions he would give up on it.. :) I'm not sure though my girls only 5 months haha I guess I have alot to go through yet - this website might be handy though - good luck.

He eats but sometimes it takes him for ever and keep the food inside his mouth until I have to tell him to throw it out. I have to sit next to him for long times and tell him chew and swallow. His docter told me to time him but that didn't work. I don't know

Kids will eat when they are hungry. All you can do is keep offering healthy nutritious meals and limit snacks.

My son is 4 and he has moments where he will eat anything and everything I offer and more. Then he will have days where I will give him his favourite meal of months and he'll tell me he doesn't like it anymore.
Both my children know that unless they eat most of the meal I have provided there is nothing more to eat until the next one. Sometimes they are generally not hungry and thats fine but they get what they are given and the same goes for my hubby.
