Hi, For boys I think Disney Cars is a fun theme. Though you can get theme supplies easily but let me share with you some creative ideas for the same.
You can make handmade invitations Create a fun road map of your party venue, cut it in the shape of a wheel and write down your party details on them. You can seal the envelopes with Disney car stickers. This will make a fun invitation.

For decorations, grab a piece of chalk and draw a highway up your driveway with a dash line down the middle. Take a poster board and make road signs like arrow pointing towards house, stop sign, speed limit sign or anything fun & creative to compliment the theme. Glue two checkered flags on your entrance door in a crisscross style and pin posters of race-cars all over the party venue. Treat them by serving wacky wheel cookies, just give your cookies, a black and white frosting and they are good to go. Wat say??

This site has some really cute Disney Pixar Cars favors. http://goo.gl/o3m0u1

What is your little guy into? We had both of our Children's 2nd Birthday parties at an indoor jumping place. We live in California. It worked out because of the weather for their birthdays. Anyway, I love to plan parties. Feel free to visit my blog to get some party planning tips.

What are his interests? When my son turned 2 he LOVED motorcycles so we did a motorcycle themed birthday party. The possibilities are endless. Kids are easily entertained at this age, so anything will really be great for him. If you plan on having a party and there will be older children present, def think of one or 2 activities to help keep them entertained too. Good luck!!
