I agree with Kristin, it takes offering things many times before some babies will eat them. Also, until a year, solids are really just practice. Breastmilk or formula should make up 95% of their diet until a year. We did something called baby-led weaning (http://www.babycentre.co.uk/baby/startin...), which worked much better for us than purees did. At 7 months (with no teeth!) my son would eat the "leaves" off of broccoli, and loved them! He's try pretty much anything we put before him.

Just keep offering lots of variety to your child and stay away from the known allergens until he/she is old enough to try them. It takes them anywhere from 1 to 15 to 30 tries with a food before they decide if they like it and will really start eating it.
