I have a 6 1/2 month old son and he is teething..he has a runny nose, horrible diarhea (like 5 times a day), and a cough, just wondering if this is normal for teething or what? And a horrible diaper rash..he is just not feeling good at all..how to fix a bad diaper rash?

I'm going through the same thing right now with my 23 month old son. (He's getting his 2 yr. molars). Very normal. Both of my kids had the same symptoms when they are/were teething. A low grade fever can be a symptom too. I use Triple Paste for diaper rashes. It is like gold in a jar!! It's pricey, but it works like nothing I've ever seen. Good luck and hang in there!! :o)

also try not using baby wipes to clean his bum while he has the rash, we always used a clean washcloth with warm water.. and then patted it dry with a towel and then applied the butt paste til the rash was gone.

runny nose, cough and diarrhea can be symptoms of teething, along other things. and the diaper rash can be from the diarrhea. you should try and give your baby some water. the recommendation is 2 oz an hour. if the diarrhea continues for longer than 24 hours you should contact the babys dr. make sure you dont give juice or anything like that since that can make the diarrhea worse. and you can try butt paste for the diaper rash. ive found it works pretty well. also aveeno has a pretty good diaper rash cream. you can also try to not have a diaper on for a little while. diaper rash is usually from moisture. so keeping it as dry as possible helps.
