We gave our kids pillows when they moved from the crib to a bed. That was at about two years old.

I did at around 13-14 months. It's a toddler pillow, so it's smaller and a bit more firm. She only recently started using it though. I thought she wanted one since she would sleep with her head on her toys, but I guess not.

We gave our son his first pillow when he went into a toddler bed, which was at about 15ish months. It was a flat pillow (walmart's $5 are usually pretty flat). Can he be put in the 2nd room upstairs? He may fall asleep pretty quickly and stay asleep when not in your room. My son would not stay asleep if we were sleeping in the same room as him.

I just gave them one when I switched from the crib to a bed, which was around 18months.

I think it depends on when you are truly comfortable with it. I didn't give my older son a pillow until he was 3. I just didn't find it necessary. My younger son is 2.5 and still doesn't use one. I have heard some moms giving their child one at 6 months old. So really it is up to you.

He sleeps in his own Crib, but as of room situations (2 up, 1 downstairs) he has to be in our room.. We have a 5 yr old in the 2nd room upstairs.. And CANNOT put them together.
He fell asleep just now on the couch with a Pillow, & he NEVER just falls asleep lol.

I started right about 1. Like Jaime said make sure its not to fluffy, and maybe start at a nap time so you can check on him and see how he does.

You could start letting him use a pillow now..my daughter was less than one when i introduced her to it and she did great.. just make sure its not to fluffy! But you should be ok. does he sleep in his own room/bed?
