When did most parents stop being parents and others had to pick up where they left off?

I have had to do some nursing of wounds other kids got and help them with sunburns just didn't think I would be the only one taking care of these kids

About the same time CPS started taking kids away from families who expected them to be responsible for their actions.

But so many parents today see some one who is willing to step up they will let you while they go out and do whatever and leave you with your kids and theirs.

It's frustrating also to see parents who are afraid to punish their children b/c they are afraid of what others may think. This isn't a popularty contest nor is it something to enter into lightly. You make a child be a parent!

Most parents don't ever stop being parents. I wouldn't complain if I was helping a child- even if they were not mine.
I strongly belive in the saying "it takes a village to raise children"
Not one set of parents or parent can do it alone.
