my baby is 4 months old today and got her first tooth a week ago now, i can even see the second one coming through already. Just wondering if any one else has an early starter because my first born got her tooth at six months and the clinic nurse said she couldnt be teething and the dribbling was from an overactive saliva gland huh didnt we prove her wrong???

My daughter is 4.5 months and had both of her front bottom teeth broke through. The first one came through about 3 weeks ago and the second broke through a few days ago. My mom told me I was teething at that age too. Sounds like that nurse needs to go back to school. LOL. Good luck

My son is now 5 yrs old, but he cut his first tooth at 3 1/2 mths and he would cut 2-3 at a time. What I found to help with the teething discomfornt was rubbing his gums with childrens Benadryl and Origel. That really helped him. Good Luck!

My son got his first teeth, the bottom two around 10 months. My daughter got her first bottom two at 9 months. Children can get their first teeth from birth(yes birth) to almost a year and a half old. When a child is born with teeth or have them come in right after birth it is very recommended to talk to the dr. and dentist for health reasons. Feeding is one.

my daughter got her first two teeth at 3 months (and I was breastfeeding). she had all of her teeth in by her 1st birthday, the best way to go if you ask me! all her teeth came in straight and spaced nicely. i wouldn't worry too much!!

My son is now 2 1/2 years old but he got his first tooth at 8 months old. However, I babysit other children and one boy got his first tooth at 3 1/2 months (he's now 2 years old) and his sister got her first tooth at 1 1/2 months old (she's now 4 months). Their pediatrician didn't believe their mom either...but she now has 2 teeth and she was claimed his youngest patient to start teething.

Thanks everyone, it is good to know there are more babies out there that have started early : )

Don't worry i didnt listen to the nurses or any one else, i went with my instincts to help her through the pain and discomfort (don't ya love baby panadol) as she was having trouble sleeping, chewing her fist and crying (they always give off a different cry when they are in discomfort) having broken sleep patterns and so on......

Good luck everyone with your little ones

my son got his first tooth about 7months. I always hear the later the straighter.but my sister is a dental assistant and she said it doesn't matter when the baby gets teeth[they can start cutting at 2 month] but they are more likely to come in straight, if all the baby teeth are spread apart. i have yet to see, my son is only 14months old. but he has 6 teeth now. he got the 4 top almost all at one about 2 months ago. But drooling is from teething.. LOl.

Every child gets their teeth at a different time. Despite what doctors and nurses say. Every time they say "they can't be teething they're too young" a tooth pops through. I myself had very late teethers. My kids didn't get their first teeth until they were around 8 months. My youngest is going to be 2 in 2 weeks and still has teeth coming in. Every child is unique. Don't let doctors or other loved ones with "wives tales" freak you out, just go with the flow. Trust me it helps.

Hi Sam,

I have 2 daughters and both got there 1st tooth at 3 months old. The Dr. told me the earlier they get there tooths, the earlier they loose there baby teeth. My oldest daughter started when she was 4 years old, she is 8 now and is almost done loosing her teeth, she only needs about 3 more the dentist recently told me. Hope this helps.

Hi sam!

My 1st child got his tooth around 4 months old, and now my second (who is 3 months old) is now cutting her 1st tooth. And the drooling....DEFINITELY FROM CUTTING TEETH. Some people say that the earlier they come in the worse the childs teeth will be. My son's teeth are just fine. Hope that helps.
