I totally agree with Summer. Don't pressure them into it... They'll just get discouraged and it will take both of you even longer! Make sure they are capable of even telling you that they need to go to the potty.Every child is different, and there's no set age when they have to learn. I've heard and from personal experience, boys take longer....Just a tidbit I thought might help, lol! Good luck!

Most doctors will tell you that all childern are different and you should not pressure your child to go on the toliet....also when a child can label almost all their body parts and can talk, thats when you should consider the potty training typical between the ages of 18-28 months . Just a few things that I thought might be helpful...just remember after all its not like they are going to be wearing diapers when they enter k-grade...well we can at least hope not.

every baby is different, our daughter will be three in two weeks, and didnt really catch on as early as i would like (she was just over 2 when she started taking an interest) and wouldnt go on the potty, we had to get a step stool and a little seat for her to use the "big" toilet. Although saying that she caught on really quickly and had it sussed in two days! go with your instinct and follow your babies lead! hope this helps, take care. xxxxx

When they start to wake up from nap dry or being dry after sleeping at night. Those are some signs to start.

We would never have done it this early if it was not suggested to us, but we started potty training loch at 3 months, basically after a breast feed, we would just sit him on there, he caught on very quickly and within a month he was weeing in it. Each time we saw him do something we made sure he understood he through tone and expression how pleased we were he did one. He then learnt to assoc our reaction with peeing in potty= good
