My daughter didn't do it till about 6 mo or so, but my son has done it twice so far and he's 2 mo old...I think it depends on their personality. My daughter is very intense and my son, much more relaxed!

my baby prefers the high pitched squeal over laughing. she had the first hard belly laugh at approx 6 months but still does not laugh much. as long as he smiles back and forth at you then there is no need for any worries!

my son is 5 months old and still has only laughed twice. Once, about a month ago... and the other time being 3 days ago. 3 days ago he laughed for like a minute and a half straight. Cutest thing ever. I've been trying my hardest to get him to laugh again but he hasn't so I understand your frustration. I feel assured that every baby is different and your baby will laugh when he's good and ready, my own included. We just have to have patience and every baby is different! :o)

If you mean that really hard belly-laugh? I'm not sure. My son never did that. But don't worry too much about it. You might bring it up at the next doc appt., but my son is healthy and smart. Some babies just skip different steps.
