He is way to young. My oldest was 21/2 when he was completely potty trained. My 21/2 yr. old now knows what he is suppose to do because he takes off his diaper and sits on the potty but he won't actually go. I will let him go when he is ready.

I would say you have about another year or two left to go yet. My older two were around two to two and a half when they potty trained. Hmm to know when they are ready? I think would be when they start to show signs that they know when they need to go. I think if I remember right our kids started to say go to a corner and do their "business". Or they show interest in the toilet and when we as parents use it. Say to come and watch how we use it kind of thing. Or even ask to try it out themselves. I think too that I have heard that you might be able to tell if they are able to stay dry all night long too. It has been a few years since the last one we potty trained as she is now 7 years old. We will be facing this ourselves in the next couple of years again tho.
