When Should You Allow Your Daughter to Wax Her Eyebrows?

I read the conversation on leg shaving. I have a daughter who is nearly 11. I was cursed with extremely thick bushy dark eyebrows. I literally pluck off half and trim them regularly and they are still lush by most people's standards. It is hereditary, when the time comes I want to take my daughters to get them shaped professionally. When is a good age?

My daughter has inherited my bushy eyebrows. She has not mentioned anything yet - she is in 5th grade - but I plan to suggest plucking them before she goes to middle school. I don't want her to be hung up on looks, so I wonder how to approach this? Has anyone made the suggestion to their daughter gently? I just wish my mom had said something to me. I was out of college before I did it myself, and what a difference!!!!

my children would have been passed down the bushy eyebrow gene had I not started getting them done for them when they were small my son has been getting his eyebrows done since his first hair cut he was about 1 and half it's an ordinary custom for latin men to get their eyebrows done..it's basiclly just shaping with an eyebrow razor/comb....my daughters followed suit however I don't wax or pluck them for starters I would use a eyebrow razor comb.

There are so many methods now for shaping eyebrows. Have you heard of the method called "Threading". It's very interesting. As for the age, if you say that they are thick and bushy then i think you should have them done.

I started waxing my eyebrows at 13. But if she wants too and you think she can handle it id say go for it. But I think you should try plucking a few peices first although I think its easier to just get it over with

I think it is fine. 11 is not too young for something like this. This is not like a nose job. or a breast augmentation. It is neither drastic or inappropriate. But it might make her feel a lot more confident.

Now go run. It's ok to wax, pluck and trim. If she is old enough to care then she is old enough to get them done. It's not like your going to do lasting damage to her eyebrows and even if so yeah make them permanently disappear. I would love that.

Hi there, I have a 12 year old girl and she has asked to have her eybrows plucked she is a bit scared bout the waxing...I have no problem with it as it helps them with there self eisteem and thats very important at this age, nothing worse then standing out with too busy eybrows for kisds to tease you for,so i think its a great idea..Maybe painful though not sure, plucking is just as efective just may take a lot longer...good luck with it all..:-)

I was shaving my legs before junior high... My mom gave me an electric razor so I wouldn't cut myself. As for the eyebrows - I wish my mom would have done something!! Tweeze, wax.. something!

as long as she understands what they are going to be doing I think shes old enough.i went to school for that and I have seen more then one young person come in to get that kind of stuff done.I would have her pluck first and see how she deals with the pain part cause I have done the waxing and there is pain involved
