I have 14month old twin boys, and it is finally nice outside, however, Im having a hard time enjoying it as much as I thought because they are constantly just eating everything. woodchips, leaves, dirt...ect. I feel like the entire time were are outside im just digging junk outta their mouths. I bring out toys and bought them a water-table, which helps a little. But at what age do they stop doing this?

maybe they'll stop when their mouth is full.

I wouldn't worry unless it's old cigarette butts and things. Leaves and bark won't do too much harm, just keep an eye on them if they start to choke, same as you would with any other solids.

My daughter is 3 years old and we still have to watch her when she is outside. I think it stops eventually but I really don't know when. At the end of the day, a little dirt won't hurt them - helps build up immunity, and they will soon understand that you don't eat everything that you find. I'm sure they will be just fine.x

My daughter used to stick EVERYTHING in her mouth. She stopped, for the most part, around 15-16 months. She's now 18 months and when we're outside she doesn't put anything in her nouth. Like Amber said, she does sometimes inside to help with the teething.

My lil boy is 18 months tomorrow & when we go out he dont stick stuff really in his mouth? But he will at times stick things in his mouth inside, but its usually stuff to help his gums feel better:)
