We are looking for a new neighborhood to move to. Boise and surrounding areas for now. I want other moms and kids around!!! I HATE being the only SAHM in the area, so lonely and it sucks more for my only boy :( Where are you all at and do you love your neighbors? Thanks! Oh, we are in the North End right now.... yeah, I know, but I grew up here too and its changed a TON... not for the better either.

I am in Five Forks area of SC (near Simpsonville). Most moms are sahm's here. I only know two that work, and they only work part time. I love the area, but the workforce is very male dominated, and the women who do work (usually childless or single) tend to stay in female dominated career fields (law, teaching, nursing). I'm glad I have a son, because the world seems very open to him, but I don't want him to think that a woman "must stay at home" or "must stick to teaching or nursing" If I had a girl, I would be worried about the influence of this area on her.
That said, from what I have heard, you rarely find a mix of working moms and sahm's. Usually one or the other dominates. It would be nice to see an equal mix of each.

I haven't met many Moms who stay home here either. Mostly working. It was the same way in California. We have learned to be on our own. Not always fun.

I wish there were more SAHMs here, too! I'm in Alexandria, LA! Good ole spicy, cajun country lol. It's a great place to live in my book, but not a lot of SAHMs that I've met. Good luck :)

Well all of us were born and raised in California, but we moved to Alabama just a few years back and love it here. I have family in Boise Idaho and they love it. Tons of kids in their neighborhood. We are in the Rocket City so a lot of military and high tech so people are constantly moving in and out.
