Why do I feel such a strong desire to have another baby?

I am a mom to two wonderful little boys, Alligator (6) and Turtle (3). I became a mom young having my oldest at 19 and my youngest at 22. Since having my boys, I have married, my youngest sons father, finished my degree, and am working as a Preschool teacher. I love my boys, but I have an overwhelming urge to have another baby. I don't understand why I feel this, when I can tell myself all day, the reason why it would be best for us to not have another baby. Neither of my boys were planned pregnancies, and when I was younger there was not really an urge to have a baby, however now that I am older, I can't seem to get over it. Why do I feel such a strong desire to have another baby?

I'm guessing you're about 28, which is still young. You have experienced motherhood, in a positive light, and want to do it again. I would do it again but my body does not carry babies well, one born at 28 weeks and the second tried to come at about the same time. Plus I am 44 and at this point feel I am past the age of babies, for me. I have a 2 1/2 year old and he, though our bundle of joy and the second apple of my eye, reminds me every day, with his energy and constant needs, that I am DONE! haha. But you are still young and mature, so it is normal to want more babies. You've got the bug! Enjoy, and if it is right for you and your husband, do it.
