This is a great question that really doesn't have an answer - especially when the spouse works outside the house because they don't see everything you do all day. There's a country song out there by Lonestar called "Mr. Mom". It's about a guy who loses his job and his stay-at-home-mom wife goes to work (somewhere) while he stays at home and looks for another job. It's the man in the song's salute to his wife for doing what she does/aknowledging what she does is harder than he thought. The song ends with the singer sounding breathless and saying "Honey, you're my hero". It pretty much describes the day of a stay at home parent.

Great question! And I don't know but it's not fair. They don't seem to understand that on top of all of the housework you are taking care of the kids 24/7 also. That you need a break too. Mine always said I did nothing and he wished he could do that, while I would have done anything to go back to work. Maybe you should go to counseling, that's what we did. It helped us put things into perspective.
