If you start to soothe him in other ways he will eventually learn that waking up doesn't get him a bottle and hopefully he won't wake up.

My 8 month old will almost sleep through the night but usually wakes up around 3 or 4 am for a bottle then goes back to sleep. I am still trying to figure out how to stop this, and I have found that if I keep him up a little later he will sleep all night without waking. This isn't always the case, but I'm still working on it. Best of luck to ya! Wish I could help more.

My son, now almost 7, didn't sleep through the night until he was almost 1 1/2. We gave him a small 6oz bottle with about 2 oz water in it. Over the course of a few weeks, we gradually reduced the amount. He still took the bottle to bed for almost a year later, then we only gave it to him if he asked for it & he didn't ask.

But, my daughter is now 3 & still doesn't sleep through the night every night.

If the bottle helps, wean him over to water & let him have it.

I nursed my babies... But I found that at the one year old stage the teeth coming in were a big problem for my kids... He Might want the bottle just for something to sooth his gums... Try some teething tablets before bedtime and it might help... If that is his problem... Hope this helps... Melody

He's probably waking up and needing his bottle for comfort. My son use to wake up and look for his pacifier. Once he had it he went right back to sleep. I had to teach him other ways to soothe himself in order to get rid of the pacifier. I rubbed his back and gave him his teddy bear to snuggle with. I also turned on some soft music. Eventually he learned to go back to sleep without his pacifier.
