Living in NJ & we've been getting a lot of snow. I know my toddler can play outside but my newborn really shouldn't be out yet. And I shouldn't leave either one of them alone. I am totally stuck. What can I do? Anyone with similar problems, please tell me I'm not the only one with WINTER BLUES!

Thank you so much ladies. I'm starting to feel better, thinking about spring around the corner. My son (2 years old next week) has been helping me in the kitchen with baking. He loves eating so, of course, he's interested in making the things he likes to eat. I appreciate everyone's insight on this issue.

You know, I'm the same, but it's nearly 40c (104F) here during the day so I can't go outside either. We can't stay in the house in the heat of the day, I have to go out to the shopping centres for a bit of a walk, and a change of scenery. We go to the library, walk around the shops, there are about 6 different shopping centres withing driving distance, and we have indoor play centres here where you can have a coffee and the kids play, but that costs, so that's a treat.

Snow might stop you going out though, if you don't want to drive. You could use a cosy sling against your body, or even under your jacket and spend time outside, or in the park or whereever. You can get some really snug baby slings. The fresh air would be good, for a short time I imagine.

I can't wait for winter! We get down to 20c (68F) some days! hehe and 4c (39F) overnight too. Don't mean to rub it in.

I am totally with ya! Utah hasn't had the snow we're used to but its been cold! I have twins that are 4, a son that is 2 1/2 and a 9 mo old. When we go to the store or run errands I look at the playground, as if Im looking at getting on a cruiseliner to Hawaii! I am really ready for spring! Just a bit longer and perhaps we'll be complaining about the heat. lol

I actually live in Texas so you would think I'd have almost no insight on this matter. However, we are having a record snow fall year. Just last week we FINALLY melted off 12" of snow. That's a big deal here. Anyway, I have a five month old, and I have been at a total loss of what do to with our seemingly endless hours of free time. Like you, I feel like it's way too cold to be getting and exposing her to the chill. Creativity only goes so far in the confines of your home! I've resorted to some pretty stupid forms of entertainment. We've gone through every pantry in the kitchen pulling out boxes and cans, looking at them and touching them. I've thrown my bathing suite on and we have had swim time in mommy's tub. We even bought a dog to hopefully provide something for her to watch (didn't work, just something else for me to take care of!). All I can say is hang in there, spring is right around the corner, and then we'll all be free!!! Lots of luck!!!
