Hi,
My Name is Nina and i am a SATM to a little boy who is going on two to twenty two.
I find being a young mother my current social life is dictated by my son. With The terrible two's in full motion i am faced with endless tantrums and boundary testing. unintentionally i have found that i have isolated myself as my new life has taken a different direction to those i once called friends. I strong encourage those whom took a career path first, but find i have no one whom can relate to my current situation and toddlers in general. Any Mothers out there just looking for a general conversation that doesn't feel like its WORK vs SAHM or Children Vs Work Colleges.

Thankyou Brandi & Ann,
I currently reside in Sydney Australia, I have considered play groups but was a tad discouraged as my son was raised in the country along side my nephew and is rough as guts, I have taken him to play grounds and watched how he interacts with other children, and find that he is extremely confident but tends to intimidate other kids hence not finding a playing mate. He has always had my nephew who is turning 4 as a companion, but due to moving he seeks any kind of friend possible. I will be re-enrolling him into swimming so fingers crossed all goes well.

I agree with brandi, being a SAHM mom will be stressful on you especially as a young mother, but your best bet is to get involved with other SAHM's in your area, join playdates and get outside as much as you can. I find if im stuck inside with my kids everyone gets a little cabin fever. My eldest is two, so I know how it feels with the endless screaming, and crying, and huge independence rush they have going on right now, but it's just a phase and they'll soon grow out of it :)

Been there! Don't worry it is just a phase. Being a SAHM can be very depressing...need to get out and be social...this is a good first step! I am in TX...where are you?
