My step son is going to be 3 in November. I only see him every other weekend. How would i approach getting him potty trained? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE HELPFUL!

Just use lots of praise with him. Bribe him with candy. That seems to help for some kids. He won't be fully potty trained until BM is ready to start potty training him too but giving him a head start at your home isn't a bad idea.

My husband and I already went through this. Hope I can be some help for ya. First off, his mom was really good about telling me his progress at home. We get him every weekend and did back then too. We bought the same potty seat his mommy got him for his home (which helped very much). He loved it that had two of them "he said" lol. We just made sure we asked ALOT if he needed to go pee pee and poopie hehe like his mom did and clapped when he did. He loved being praised for being such a big boy at daddy and Manda's house like he was at his own home.
Hope this helps a lil. Good luck!

Work with him when he's there and then tell step mom what you're doing and maybe she'll continue your work

Its going to be tough unless you and the BM work together. My fiance and the BM has joint custody and it was very hard for us seeing him half the week. He just kept working with him and would let his mother know what methods we were using. It took a very long time because she would let him stay in diapers when we would have him wear big boy underware. Good luck!
