Hello!
My baby boy is 4 months old now, I know all the docters say '' wait untell 6 months to feed your baby cereal'' I have a few friends that have been feeding there children baby cereal sence they were about 2 months old,I have done ALOT of research on it ,& came across a website (babycenter) & it said its ok to feed your baby the cereal..the recommendation they suggested was 4 to 6 months.

Dont get me wrong. I know alot of people feed them cereal early to get them to sleep better. but my child sleeps wonderful thats not the reason i want to try it.. Any Suggestions for me!
Thanks Girls ! :)

I started Cereal just recently at 3 months not because my bby is not a good sleeper but so she can learn to start eating from a spoon. Right now im a stay at home mom which will not last for long so this was the best time for me to teach her. I have also started her on some bby food. they also tell you not to do so until 6 months but then again on the bby food for stage one it says supported sitter. at 6months they are going to be a sitter and unable to eat from a spoon. The only reason they tell you 6 months is because some babys have food allergys to different foods and until 6months there is no approved med for threating any kind of allergy. If food allergys run in you family i would wait until 6 months but if they dont its really fine. but remember at first only feed a little bit even if bby wants to eat more.

i started on it at 3 months.. my son started on it at 4 months because he was so crabby and he was taking full bottles ever hour or so. he was so much happier. waiting till their 6 months seems a bit silly to me.

Four months old is fine to try at, he will let you know if he is ready or not. Just make it real soupy and if he doesnt like it try again in a few weeks. Doctors recommend 4 months.

My sone started on Cereal at 2 months he had problem with formula and he started Baby food at 4 months. He is 13 now no problems just start slow and only introduce one things at a time. Like start on a single grain and only use that for a fw weeks and if that is tolerated you can add a different type.

I just fed my baby cereal for the first time today...she is 5 months old. Her pediatrician specifically told me at 5 months that she would be ready...that some babies are good to start at 4 months, some at 6 months and mine should be good at 5 months. i am a firm believer in waiting until you get the ok from a doctor, mostly because i work for a doctor and know tht they give you instructions for a reason. However, if you want to try, why not? Your baby is in the recomended age limits.

I had fun feeding my daughter..she got it after a while. lol. I read it helps to give the baby half their bottle first so that they don't get too frustrated.

Have Fun =]

If you feel that your child is ready to start on baby cereal then that is your choice. I would say go for it if you really want to.

If you are concerned about any health issues that may come up because of this, I would talk to your family doctor. Although, every doctor (like everyone else) will have their own opinion!

I started my son on baby cereal at four months old and he did very well. Even now he is a very healthy and well-rounded eating eight month old little boy. We just thinned the cereal a little more than what the instructions recommended to help make the introduction easier.
