Hey, I wanted to do a little poll to see something. I have a support group for young mommies in my area and I thought it'd be really cool to share these numbers! Could you tell me what age you were, what age the father was, (for each child you have), if the father stayed, and the state you live in? Also, if you stayed in school/ last grade completed/ work or SAHM? If you wanna share your story too that'd be great! If you dont wamt to share allt hat info just your age will even do! Thnx girls.
-Paige, pregnant at 17 mommy to one at 18. The father was 21 and has never seen her. I graduated high school and am a sophmore in college! I work part time and live with my parents in MD. cant wait tohear your story!

My name is Candi. I live in Pa. I had my daughter, Alexa, when i was 17, and my son, Drew, when I was 18. I graduated high school 3 weeks after I had my daughter. I went to cosmetology school, and I now am partners with my mother at her salon.

Their father, John, was 19 when I had Alexa, and 20 when I had Drew. (Yes, they have the same father.) He dropped out of high school his senior year. He is currently a sub-contractor (self-employed).

Now, I am 35, and John & I have been married for 13 years, but been together 20 years. We had the kids, but didnt want to get married just because we had them, we wanted it to be because WE wanted to. We have had our ups & downs, and I am not gonna lie, at times it was hard. But, we overcame and have done very well.

Alexa, is now 17 (she will be 18 in May). She graduated early (Jan 21, 2010) because she worked hard and got all her credits and graduation requirements done. That same day when she got home from her last day of high school, she got her acceptance letter from Penn State University! We are extremely proud of her.

Drew, is now 16 (will be 17 in June). He is getting emails from 27 different colleges daily. He plays baseball. He has played other sports for years, but the last two years, he has focused on baseball. Last year, his pony league team made it to the world series. They got 5th in the world...it was awesome. We are very proud of him also.

My point I hope to make, is that you & your child do NOT have to be a statistic. YOU have the ability to do whatever it is that will make you happy, and raise well-adjusted children no matter what anyone says. It's up to you to make the right choices. People were definately unkind...but I overlook those people. They WANT you to fail. That is what made me try harder. Stay strong..and NEVER let other people dictate YOUR future!!! God Bless!!!

I was 17 when I found out I was pregnant, as was her biological father. He turns 18 a month before her birth and I turned 18 a month after. Despite being together for 3 years before I got pregnant, he chose things over his daughter. Therefor, he is out of the picture! She is three now and we live in Texas with my boyfriend of a year and s half who adores my baby and she adores him back! He works PT and is in school FT, and I work FT as a nanny! We live on our own as a happy family! I'll finish college when he's done, hard for two to go at once!

Im Stephanie,

Was pregnant @ 19 (unplanned) ,first boyfriend, miscarried @ 3 months.

craved another baby so planned the second pregnancy and had my baby girl at age 20.

My boyfriend was cheating so I left and moved into an apt with my baby girl.

So scared, alone, ended up with deppression for 4 years !

but between all that, I ended up marrying my best friend ( @ 25) and having another baby ( boy) at the age of 23 !

Sought help from my doctor about the deppression, not on anymore medication but I do get my ups and downs.

its amazing what us ladies have to go through, the emotional side of things can really hurt, but im proof that we can all come out smiling in the end :)

We all live at home with my parents. I'm currently in my senior year at High School here in Sweden. I graduate this summer. I missed a year of school when I had my second son.

Hi Paige,
I was 16 when I had my 1st, 20 with my 2nd, 24 with 3rd and 27 with my 4th. I'm now nearly 19 years married to the same man and very happy!! I'm just gone 40 and my hubby is 42. We bought just turned Grandparents 6 months ago to a beautiful baby boy from our 1st daughter. We are currently ttc baby number 5! We Love kids and always want them around! I'm a full time SAHM and Love it! I had a bad smear about 8 9yrs ago & It came back with cancerous cells stage 3, so I had a colospocy they used lazer to burn away the bad cells. Since then I had to do 3, 6 and 12 monthly smears to see if it came back, but thank God It didn't and I got a complete All Clear so that's why we're ttc again! We'd love more kids! Also our kids would Love more siblings! My husband comes from a big family & I think it's lovely & my friend has 10 kids and she's trying for a few more.
As for school I didn't go to college I just did my Junior then my leaving. Actually I wen't back to finish school after my 1st baby. I've been happy all my life really. I'm not a hard to please kind of persom. We never had loads of money but we always got by and the kids never wanted for anything!
The only thing that we couldn't do anything about was where we lived at the time. We only had a 1 bed flat from the council and even though there was 6 of us living in the 1bedroom they didn't care. Thankfully after nearly 8 or 9yrs we got a beautiful 3 bedroomed house in a small private estate. We Love it! Sorry if this was a bit of a ramble! I think your Poll is a great idea! Best wishes.:))

I got pregnant and gave birth at 16. The father was 18 when she was born. He ran off and came back, and ran off and came back. then i ran off (with my baby) and came back. We're now 20 and 21 and married. I got my GED and started going to college. I dropped out. My husband got his high school diploma and is now working nights at a factory. I'm a stay at home mom, and we are considering trying for another baby this october. We have our own apartment and are financially stable. My husband started college but he is taking a break right now. He wants to finish up his associates degree at some point.

I was 15 when I got pregnant, 16 when I had my son, his dad was 18 and turned 19 a few months before he was born. We both live in California but are no longer together. He proposed to me on my 16th birthday and by the time I was 18, I realized he was incapable of being able to care for a child. I graduated high school on time and with better grades then I had before I had my son. I attended college and graduated with my AA in Child Development and Education, with a second in Psychology. I plan to go back and get my Bachelor's. Right now my son is now 12 years old, and I work full time. He doesn't have much of a relationship with his father unfortunately. It's been a definite struggle but hard times only make us stronger in the end!

I had my son at 19. I got pregnant maybe a month after graduating high school with honors. Needless to say, I was terrified! The "father" was 20. I was on and off with him for about 3 years, but, after finally having enough of the abuse, I left him for good. He didnt want to grow up and he wasnt ready to be responsible. I haven't had any contact with him in about a year and a half now. It has been very difficult for me.. I've lost a lot of friends and I continuously have to strive to open up to people. I am doing much better though. I met a new man, an we have been going strong for a little over a year now. He treats both me and my son like we deserve. My son will be 4 this month, and I couldn't be happier with the direction things are going in...

Father now has an Associate's Degree and I'm currently awaiting acceptance to an Ultrasound Tech. program, that should only take me about a yr. or so. We've been on our own for about 4yrs. in a duplex, and are currently beginning our search for our first home before the school yr. starts again.

We count our blessings each night, thankful for so much. Good health,Great family, awesome friends, and amazing son. Their support and our focus to succeed has gotten us far and just touching our mid-20's. We soon hope to extend our family for a new addition :)

I was 17 when I found out I was pregnant, I graduated from high school. I had my daughter 2 month after graduating at 18 years old. Her father was 19 when she was born. We lived together for a year and a half. I left him as he was a stay at home dad, but did not do anything. I was working 16+ hours a day as a manager at a local subway and had to clean and cook and take care of my child and him when I got home, so I packed up my daughters and my things and moved back in with my mom. He moved his girlfriend (who he'd been seeing on the side) and her son into the apt we shared. He saw her every other weekend up until 6 months ago when he cut off all ties to her to raise someone else's child as his own and move on with his life with his new fiance. My daughter and I are currently living in a home I bought just a few months ago, and doing well. She is starting school next year, I work two jobs to support her and her dancing (as I do not get any assistance of child support from her father and he has stayed under the radar so no one can locate him). Currently loving the life I have with my beautiful little girl. I am a single mommy and love it :)

She was 2 1/2 when I unexpectedly got pregnant with my son. I was now in school and working full time. I continued my schooling and working until I was 38 weeks. I gave birth to him at 22. Four weeks after having my son I had to go back to school for 6 months I graduated and did it all as a single hardworking mother ! Best thing I could have ever done for my kids, don't let anything get in your way take charge and create the life you want even when road blocks come up.

I had my first baby at the age of 15. I had to make a tough choice to quit school and go to work full time to support her. I finished the 10th grade. The father was 28 yrs old. we didnt continue the relationship and he never knew her until she turned 18 yrs. old and went looking for him. Surprise!!! He knew of her and his family knew she existed but didn't bother with her. I am 48 yrs. old and have had 4 other children. We live in seperate towns and my daughter has never visited the father again. We lived happily ever after!!!! My husband of 28 years has taken my daughter as his own along with our other 4. It was frowned upon more back then than today. I wouldn't have changed a thing

He probably wouldn't have been there anyway b/c he's a dead beat. He has only seen her maybe five times since she was born. She is six years old, almost seven. I did not stay in school b/c I had to choose between being a mother to my daughter or going to school and having somebody else care for her while she was sick. I did finally get my diploma from Penn Foster. I am not in college yet but I am working on that. I too live at home with my parents in the Lone Star state. :)

I'm Ashlee. I was 17 when I got pregnant with my son Jackson [chose to do an EXTREMELY open adoption where I see Jackson consistently since I now live 20 minutes away with my husband]. I was 18 and 2 or 3 weeks away from graduation when he was born on May 13, 2009. The father was in my graduating class and booked it 2 weeks into finding out about my pregnancy. I live in Ohio. I stayed in high school the entire time and graduated ON TIME with my class. I am now a full time Clincial Coordinator for a pharmacuetical company.
