What does it feel like when your water breaks?

About two weeks ago I was laying in bed, not quite awake but not quite sleeping either.. you guys know what I mean. Anyways, suddenly I was like "BAM! TIME TO GET UP!" and I ran to the bathroom because I thought either a) my water broke or b) I peed the bed. I wasn't too sure, I didn't remember feeling like I had to pee but I figured it was possible, especially since I was only half conscious. But about ten minutes ago, I was SITTING in bed, not laying down, and reading a book, and the phone rang. I reached over to grab it, and as soon as I moved I was REEEALLY wet between my legs, and my bed was wet. So I ran to the bathroom and my panties were soaked through, but I didn't have to go to the bathroom. The doctor said (last time) that the baby just pushed up against my bladder and my body didn't have time to register the need to pee before it happened, but they sent me to Kamloops anyways (the town I live is too small to have a hospital that delivers)... anyways, long story short, I don't want to go through all that again if my water didn't break. So here goes: I'm not having any contractions, just a slight cramp that I've been feeling for a few weeks and it hasn't got any stronger since this happened. There was no blood, but alot of mucus stuff. Nothing hurts or feels weird at all. What does it feel like when your water breaks? Does this sound like my water breaking or did I just pee the bed? Eek.

lol I had my waters broken in hospital it's funny I was so embarrased it felt like I was peeing uncontrollably I kept apologising to the staff. It was the weirdest feeling. I'd say it your still getting mucus, no blood, no pains and it stopped you may have just peed. Nothing to be embarrased about pregnancy does some weird things to a woman. But always get yourself checked out if you're worried.

You'll KNOW when your water breaks. It is warm, gushing, sweet smelling, and it feels like a bubble has popped... it's kind of like a pressure relief and the baby's head (assuming he/she is head down) will fall closer down to your cervix. All 3 times my water hasn't broken until the midwife went in and manually broke but it felt the same all three times. And it is a continuous flow that is heaver when you are standing.

I didn't even realize mine had broken. I was laying in bed, woke up around 5AM thought I peed the bed, then as I was changing my sheets my water was trickiling down my leg.

You'll definitely know when you're water breaks, and it doesn't look anything like pee, or feel like pee, or smell it it either.
When mine broke I was 38.5 weeks and my mucus plug fell out a few hours earlier.
My water broke and once I stood up I KNEW what had happened. It was thicker then water, and kind of had a white tinge to it with little white floaties TMI I know.

And it kept GUSHING, just when I'd think it had ended another flow of fluids would come. I couldn't get off the freaking toilet. I started having contractions a couple hours later. Looked like I peed myself when I went into the hospital because even pads didn't work.

Beleive me you KNOW
