Winter depression

Krista - posted on 12/10/2009 ( 4 moms have responded )

So, I suffer from S.A.D (Seasonal Affective Disorder) in which the lack of vitamin D spirals me into depression. I totally wish I didn't because I can already feel that I'm having a lack of interest in so many things.
COM is becoming less interesting to me and as such, I hope no one takes offence if my posts in this group and DMG (my stomping grounds on here) become infrequent. It truly has nothing to do with the great group of ladies I've met here.
Who knows? Maybe this year it will be different? I hope so.

You know? You might try replacing as many bulbs in the house, as you can, with "sunlight" bulbs.

Krista, I am quite susceptible to winter depression too, but I am very luck I live in a place where we get a lot of beautiful sunny (albeit cold) winter days. The one thing I do for myself in the winter is every morning when the sun is out, I sit on our front verandah (the side of the house the sun is) with my cup of tea and a good book, and sit in the sun for 1/2 hour.......not sure if you get much sunny winter weather where you are, but just wanted to share.

I'm sorry hun. I tend to get overwhelmed during the holidays. This year promises to be worst than past years.. oy.

So sorry...I think I get it just a bit, but not usually until February. In December, I sort of like the long dark days...seems more Christmas-y and cozy. By late Jan and into Feb, I'm definitely in need of some sunlight, and days just seem to drag on endlessly, and spring is so far away...

Wonder if the pregnancy will have any effect on it one way or the other? BTW...has the nausea gotten any better yet?
