One year olds are going to get into everything, this is why companies make money from locks for cabinets and such lol. Best solution, move everything breakable or dangerous. I know it isn't the easiest thing to do. With those things you can't hide simply learn to distract him. Find him something more interesting to do. Keep a spot for crafts-paints crayons, paper. or a safe corner for him to keep his cars and tracks or something of the sort to just move him into that area.

Tantrums usually means he needs something and doesn't have the words to tell you. Usually it's something simple like they need something to drink or eat. maybe they need a nap. either way of you keep a schedule it makes figuring out what is needed easier.

Picking eating- it happens. They like what they like. Always offer new food and try to get them to taste it- even if they only lick it. I require my 2 year old to taste the new food before she gets the food she wants. Tonight for example she refused to eat teriyaki chicken. she took a lick and ate the whole plate after that. Also try to make food look fun. Think of when you go out to eat. kids menus have fun looking food. Goggle kid friendly food and you'll find tons of ways to get fun healthy food.
