18 month old and not walking born with club foot

My son was born at 37 weeks(Jan. 28th, 2011) He was born with Clubbed foot(is a congenital deformity involving one foot or both. The affected foot appears rotated internally at the ankle.) He has been in corrective shoes since he was 2 weeks old. Well he wore the right foot one all day since he was born, and as he got older around 9 months, and at night had to wear both and the bar. well close to 14 months is when he started pulling himself up and we have tile and no matter what i did to keep it slip resistant, he still managed to fall and somehow it always ended on his head backwards or side/frontwards. He is behind on some of his milestones cause he was born with a big head, and so he didnt sit alone till 7/8 months, he didnt start "his way" of crawling till a little before his first birthday. I have been hesitant on the corrective shoes now cause he is more active and i have no problem with putting the shoes on at night(have a hard time to remember), but when he stands he looks normal, he has a tendency to pull his foot inward again, but his toes have always curved kinda inward but not bad. anywho, he is not 18mths and has only once taken 3 steps and everytime we try to get him to walk with his hands grasping ours, he will go a couple steps and throw a fit and not want to do it anymore and just sit and do "his crawling" we've tried to get him to walk on his own, he has a toy at my parents that stays on the carpet and it rolls but slowly to wear its not to fast for him, but if it moves he just sits down and crawls to it to play and does that over and over till he is tired of it, which isnt long at all. How can i get my son to walk? up until he start pulling up and walking along the cough i wasnt suppose to enforce the walking, due to it might hinder his foot posture/walking. and now that he can walk along the couch we are allowed to help encourage him, but simply, i feel my kid is lazy. my husbands mom said that he was the same way, but he was walking by 18/19 months, but he didnt have the birth defect like my son had/has. what can i do to enourage him? ive tried toys, ive tried untensils, and he isnt around other kids much due to i stay home with him, and every other child he has been around, either arent his age and expierenced like those milestones(ie, not walking yet or crawling) or he is around kids who are far in advanced as he is. im just stuck at what to do. he doesnt even talk yet, and he just got tubes put in his ears, so ive been told that will help out his equilibrium(sp?) and i think thats why he took those 3 steps..idk if i should take him to a therpist, or just kinda still work with him and eventually he will get it or what. just need some opinions of moms that have dealth with this before. Thanks, and sorry so long

Have you had him assessed? He could qualify for OT through early intervention.

Have his pediatrician refer you to a specialist, there may be something more serious going on.

I would take him to an occupational therapist. It's been a long time and your child should be walking, or at least be trying to walk. I understand the clubbed foot, but he needs an OT. I would get a referral from your primary care physician.
