My guys is a few days shy of his 19 month birthday and he has been a major fuss butt all week. Is this the start of the terrible twos? I feel like such a bad mommy when he's whining, crying, screaming for a large portion of the day. He's sleeping the same, gets 12 hours consistently every night (without waking up) and usually sleeps 2-3 hours a day -- although when he goes to daycare a few days a week, he's been getting a little less than this. He's really not talking yet, his only words (that I can understand anyway) are "no" and "go," so I know it must be frustrating to him to know what he wants and I can't always figure it out. He is getting some teeth, but he has always been a good teether, even with his molars. I didn't even know his last 2 molars came in until I felt them when I was brushing his teeth. He's always been a good eater and there's no change there. I'm just looking for some reassurance that this is a normal phase and not a sign that I'm a terrible mommy! :(

Based on what I read it sounds like it's probably based on frustration from the language barrier. Try teaching him some sign language to make communication a little easier for you. We started teaching my daughter at about 19 months and it made a really big difference. We taught her to sign words like please, thank you, more, food, milk, juice, all done, bubbles, swing, slide, and read. My the time she was 2 years old she could sign more than 40 words.
