Putting my 2 year old son in a program 2 days a week for 4hours a day. It is called Kids Day out. My father in law, whom currently watches him a few days a week for me thinks he is too young to attend a program that I think will be great for him. My son currently has no kids his age to play with. Father in law was so mean about it. He told me that if " he sees a change in my son, he will be very upset with me. I was so sad and angry last night. I have a hard time be assertive with him. Any help with be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Thanks for helping me out. My son went for his 1st day and did very well. He loved playing with the other kids,. I am such a proud mom right now. The father in law can be so overbearing sometimes.

Agree with Alexis you and your husband are the parents you know what's best your child. He's 2 I am sure he loves being around with other kids his age and playing with them, I think it so important for kids to be around other kids their age, I'm sure if the people that run the program thought your son was too young they would have told you so and not accepted him, if you find it hard to talk to your father in law have your husband talk to him. Honestly if I had a family member watching my son I probably to would find a program I could put my son in just so he gets time to be around and play with other kids

At the end of the day, you're his mother. As long as your husband agrees with you and doesn't have a problem with it then I think you should try it! If you notice behavior change then you can decide on if you would like to keep him in the program or take him out
