My son has pretty good vocab. However mine is the one word I did not teach. Recently he is saying mine and grabbing whatever you have in a mean temper. I have seen the other kids he plays with do this. How do I teach to stop? Or will he just out grow this?

its a stage hes going through. I have a 29 month old and he started doing the whole "mine" thing at the age. I do time outs. I also have a 24 month old right now and shes just starting that stage. Every child goes through it. Good luck!

WOW you are speaking my language I hate the word MINE and whenever someone says it to my child I correct them cause I dont want him to do that and when he has something that is not his we refer to it as NO thats mommy;s or whoever ( insert name) but nver use the word mine since he is getting this from other children just correct him and pray he outgrows it good luck

it's the stage but now is the time to teach him "no" and take turns. timeouts are just around the corner! fun!

When he takes something in a mean or rude way what I would do is explain to him that that was not nice. Let him know that he needs to say please and ask for it before he can take something. Also letting him know that then the other person must give it to him if they decide he can have it. After explaining this to him I would then do a time-out for 2 minutes. This is a stage that many kids go through, but if you are consistant and follow through with the time-outs (or whatever discipline you are using) it will get better. There are also many different sharing games that help teach about sharing that are made for around that age group.
